What is a Community Coordinator?

Community Coordinators maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming hall environment as well as support students as they grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially. Community Coordinators do this by staffing offices to ensure student safety and security, by providing counseling on anything from homesickness to loss, and by facilitating a variety of activities to foster a sense of community.

Ground Reynolds Community Coordinator

Hello! My name is Khortney Hamlin, and I am the Community Coordinator for Ground Reynolds. I am originally from Huntsville, Alabama, and, as an Army Brat, I have moved around a tiny bit. I spent most of my formative years in Charlotte, NC, and I loved it so much that I ended up going back for college. After graduating from UNC Charlotte with a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Education, I taught middle school in Durham for almost 5 years before joining the NCSSM team.
